New Release: Android Build

Hello, everyone!

Just as planned, the Android build is here, ready for download!

This version of the game covers exact the same content as the previously released PC/Mac/Linux 0.4.0 build, but also includes a few improvements (namely, grammar fixes and an information banner that displays name of current scene in the in-game menu). I also managed to optimize the file size of the background images by decreasing their resolution, but re-scaling them back in the game's engine - the image quality took a minimal loss, but in return, the game is now much less hungry for RAM, and this should significantly increase the performance on mobile devices (especially older ones).

Please, shout out in the comments how the game’s performance is on your phones and tablets. Also, let me know if the current UI is big enough for comfortable reading and maneuvering through menus.

Thank you for reading!

Tried it out on my phone and it worked perfectly fine. Android 10, SD820 soc - no framerate drops or anything bad performance wise. Tested saving, loading, force closing, changing fonts, abusing controls - not a single issue. Absolutely stable. On a 5.5 inch screen the text looks a bit on the smaller side. It's readable and tapping menu options wasn't difficult, but I think it could be a bit bigger, especially those with even smaller phones would benefit from it. Not sure how tricky it is to implement, but an option to scale fonts (or maybe the whole UI) in the settings would be super cool, plus there is already the font type option. Though I'd put this feature pretty low on priority list with how stable and enjoyable the game already feels on mobile. You did a great job on optimizing everything.

Hi, Narcoleptic. Thank you very much for such an in-depth test of the build - I'm delighted to hear that you had a pleasant experience. Also, thank you for your feedback related to the UI. Once I get a better grip of the story for the upcoming build, I will definitely try to adjust the font size, starting with the message box.
